Payne Timber is the sister company of Duchy Timber of Cornwall, and their recent investment in new plant and technologies provides Payne Timber with a large modern manufacturing plant at its disposal.

This means that we do not have to rely on big importers and shippers for our stock.

Where ever possible our timber is sourced from Devon and Cornwall woodland.

Using timber felled in the West Country benefits the local community, uses local hauliers and a local labour force. It also reduces the distance that the timber has to travel, giving it a lower carbon footprint.

Duchy Timber's kilns are powered by recycled woodchip and bark supplied from the sawmill waste.

All the treated timber is kilned prior to the treatment process, helping to ensure that the optimum uptake of the preservative that extends the life and durability of the product occurs.

Payne Timber's key strength is the ability to source and supply bespoke and unusual items, such as extra long lengths and large bulk sizes, on site we have the facility to cut timber up to 7.2m in length and 300mm square.

We have a large joinery shop where local craftsmen turn our locally grown timber into beautiful furniture, gates and fence panels; we also offer an in house sheet cutting service.

Payne Timber supply Duchy claddings and waney edged boards cut from Douglas fir, larch and cedar. Payne timber also supplies timber for marine applications.
